Summary
Japan is leading the introduction of third generation (3G) mobile services and has by far the most advanced
mobile economy in the world. The annual "Wireless Japan" exhibition is a show case for
Japan's wireless communication industry: many current business models, equipment, mobile phone handsets
and test equipment as well as new business concepts, and prototypes are shown and discussed with visitors.
This report gives an overview of the "Wireless Japan 2003" exhibition, which was held July 16-18, 2003 in Tokyo.
The report introduces exhibits in about 60 photographs, summarizes the key points and discusses many of the exhibits and
company displays. The report also contains several comparisons with the previous "Wireless Japan 2002"
and illustrates the trends.
