Why is the Japanese high-tech and R&D world important?
(1) Japanese technology is very advanced in many (but not all) areas. (This fact is documented in detail by thorough high-level US committee studies).
(2) approximately 650,000 researchers, and thus has at least in numbers the second largest research and development work force in the world.
(3) an important supplier, developer, and market for many high-technology products.
(4) Some (but of course not all) important breaktroughs are Japanese: an example is the development of commercial
Gallium-Nitride blue lasers and LEDs.
Crisis and change:
The present transformation and "new opening" presents many new opportunities for foreign corporations. Eurotechnology works with foreign corporations to take advantage of new opportunities - some of these opportunities have never existed before.
Eurotechnology plans and implements high-tech business projects:
Eurotechnology relies on many years of profound hands-on experience in the European and Japanese research and development worlds to link foreign corporations cost efficiently into the huge Japanese R&D world. As outstanding experts, we are frequently requested to speaking engagements at major corporations, Embassies, and Universities such as Stanford, Princeton, Trinity College Dublin and others.

We are frequently requested to write about various topics concerning the Japanese high-tech, R&D and business worlds. The American Chamber of Commerce requested us recently to write a summary article entitled "R&D in Japan - Making the Most of It" for their member's Journal. This article appeared in December 1997 and summarizes some of our own direct experience in the Japanese High-Technology and research and development world. The article is also full of advice for foreign companies thinking about setting up research and development labs. Interested?
